Pakistani media organization ‘Dawn’ According to the report, the attack took place on the outskirts of Sibi city late Thursday night. The attackers targeted a four-inch diameter gas pipeline, causing the blast immediately after. massive fire It took effect. Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) engineers had to immediately stop the gas supply from the damaged pipeline to control the situation. Considering the seriousness of the incident, police, security forces and other investigating agencies have reached the spot and evidence is being collected.
Attack on main pipeline in Akhtarabad
Officials said that this incident was carried out like another major devastation that happened recently in the Western Bypass area. Earlier, unknown assailants had blown up an 18-inch diameter main gas pipeline in Akhtarabad area with a bomb. According to the police, the attackers had fitted an explosive device (IED) beneath the pipeline on the evening of March 30. Due to this attack, a large part of the pipeline was completely destroyed and gas shortage started in many districts of Balochistan including Quetta.
Gas crisis increased in these areas
A large part of Balochistan has been affected due to the targeting of gas pipelines. SSGC spokesperson has informed that due to these blasts, gas supply has come to a standstill in important areas like Quetta, Hazara Town, Pishin, Ziarat, Kalat, Mastung, Hazarganji, Khaji, Nohsar and Kuchlak.
