Grave of 3 year old girl tampered with in Balod
A very sensitive and shocking incident has come to light from Balod district of Chhattisgarh. The fear of alleged tampering with the grave of a three-year old innocent girl in village Mahud-B under Haldi Chowki of Gunderdehi police station area has shocked the entire village. The fear of witchcraft has deepened among the villagers after suspicious objects were found near the place where the girl was buried.
The pain of the family members cannot be expressed in words. The same hands with which the girl was bid farewell are now worried about the safety of her grave. Police reached the spot and started investigation and permission has been sought from the administration for further action.
What is the whole matter?
According to the information, Priya Sahu (3 years), resident of village Mahud-B, died on 9 October 2025. The family buried him with tears in their eyes near Muktidham road of the village. On Sunday morning, when some villagers were going towards the fields, they saw that the soil at the burial site was uprooted and the place looked in disarray. As soon as this scene was seen, there was a sensation in the village.
What was found near the grave?
During investigation, cut lemons, burnt earthen lamps and incense sticks were found scattered around the grave. Seeing these things, the villagers feared that some unknown person or Tantrik had tampered with the grave in the darkness of the night or tried to remove the dead body. Villagers say that such action is not only inhumane, but also promotes fear and superstition in the society.
What do the police say?
The father of the deceased girl has given a written application to the Haldi Chowki in-charge demanding strict action against the culprits. The police have cordoned off the entire area and started investigation. The post in-charge said that ‘in view of the seriousness of the matter, permission has been sought from the SDM to dig the grave. As soon as permission is granted, the body will be taken out and examined to see if there has been any tampering with it or not. The police are interrogating the people nearby and trying to find out whether any outsider had come to the village at the time of the incident.
Is there an atmosphere of panic in the village?
After this incident, there is silence in Mahood-B and surrounding areas. A large number of villagers kept gathering near the burial site. People are both angry and afraid. Villagers say that the fear of tampering with the grave of an innocent child has put humanity to shame. Everyone is demanding from the administration to reveal the truth soon and give strict punishment to the culprits.
