BAN vs NZ, 1st ODI: Blair Tickner Brutally Mocks Bangladesh With ‘Snake Celebration’ After Dismissing Rishad Hossain — Watch VIDEO

BAN vs NZ, 1st ODI New Zealand national cricket team pacer Blair Tickner’s celebration went viral after dismissing Rishad Hossain in the first of the three ODIs against Bangladesh on April 17, Thursday at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. Tickner, who got the wicket of Hossain with a caught and bowled dismissal, seemingly mocked Bangladesh cricket team and the supporters with the ‘snake’ celebration.

BAN vs NZ, 1st ODI: What is the history behind the ‘snake’ celebration as Blair Tickner pulls out viral gesture?

The celebration from Bangladesh grabbed eyeballs during the 2018 Nidahas Trophy contested between India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s players pulled out the celebration following what was a must-win clash for Sri Lanka. On the back of Kusal Perera’s 61 and then skipper Thisara Perera’s 58, the Lankans managed 58. Bangladesh found themselves at 33-2 but the partnership of 64 off 52 deliveries from Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal ensured that it all came down to 12 off the final over.

However, tensions rose in the 20th over, leading to almost a physical fight between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka players. After Mahmudullah scored 12 runs off the final three deliveries to carry Bangladesh to victory, the players stormed to the field to bring out the ‘Nagin dance’ directed towards the opposition players and the crowd. Meanwhile, the dismissal of Hossain came in the 46th over of the innings as the right-hander slugged it back to the bowler, thereby mistiming it.
