Banaras tour now in theatre! A glimpse of the city will be seen exactly in Rajamouli’s film ‘Varanasi’.

New Delhi. SS Rajamouli’s next film ‘Varanasi’, famous for the mega-projects of Indian cinema, has become the center of discussion. As soon as people hear the name, the ghats, temples and streets of Banaras start floating in their minds, but the surprising thing is that the film is not being shot in real Banaras, but in the Film City of Hyderabad.

Real Banaras-like set prepared in Hyderabad

Big and grand sets have been prepared in Hyderabad for the film, in which the stairs of the ghats, old palaces, temples and small streets will look exactly like the real Banaras. Special attention has been paid to the structure of the stones and every little thing. The aim is that everything on the screen looks absolutely real and the audience gets completely lost in the film.

According to sources, Rajamouli wants the audience to get a great cinematic experience. He and his team have designed the set based on photographs of real places in Banaras. The title launch of the film was also done with great fanfare and the entire team is working hard day and night to make every frame look fantastic and premium.

‘Varanasi’ is considered to be one of the most expensive films of Indian cinema. According to media reports, the budget of the film is approximately Rs 1361 crore. The reasons behind such a huge cost are: shooting at international locations, high‑end VFX and huge sets. The film is being made in the action-adventure genre and promises to deliver an incredible experience on the big screen.

    Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran will be in lead roles in the film. Priyanka Chopra will be seen in the role of ‘Mandakini’ in the film and will return to Indian cinema after a long time. Prithviraj’s character will be seen adding thrill and suspense to the film ‘Kumbh’. The film will be a box office hit on April 7, 2027.
