Bangladesh: Another Hindu youth beaten to death, murdered on suspicion of extortion

Rajbari, Agency. A person was beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of extortion in Rajbari area of ​​Bangladesh late on Wednesday night. According to information received in local media, the deceased has been identified as Amrit Mandal alias Samrat.

According to local people, Samrat had maintained a criminal gang and was involved in extortion and other criminal activities for a long time. He had recently returned home and had allegedly demanded extortion from Shahidul Islam, a resident of the same village. Last night, when Samrat and his gang members reached Shahidul’s house to collect the money, the family members raised an alarm by shouting “Daku-Daku”. Hearing the noise, the villagers gathered and beat the emperor. On getting information about the matter, police reached the spot and rescued Samrat in critical condition and took him to the hospital. There the doctors declared him dead late at night. The mob captured a man named Salim who had accompanied the emperor’s gang. Police have recovered two weapons from Salim. According to the police, there were at least two cases registered against Samrat at Pangsha police station, including murder.
