TV channels and other media outlets reported that the attackers attacked the party headquarters in Dhaka's Bijoy Nagar area. They clashed with the party members present there and eventually the attackers set the premises on fire.

Fire Service and Civil Defense official Rashid bin Khalid told news agency AP over the phone that the fire brigade has reached the spot. Jatiya Party is the third largest party in Bangladesh. It was founded in the 1980s by former military dictator H.M. Irshad did it.
