The incident occurred around 10 pm on Wednesday night, when a person started vandalizing the Madhur canteen of Dhaka University. The person damaged the canteen property while raising slogans against Qazi Nazrul Islam. The university security personnel immediately caught him and handed him over to the police.

Earlier, on the same day on Wednesday evening, a petrol bomb was attacked in Moghbazar area of ​​Dhaka, killing one person, Saiful Siam. Eyewitnesses say that the bomb was thrown from a flyover and Saiful died there.

“He came to us to have tea. Then there was a loud bang and I saw him falling on the ground,” Farooq, who sells tea, narrated the incident. “His head was bleeding and he was completely covered in blood.” Saiful Siam worked in a local automobile accessory shop. According to the police, he had gone to buy something from a nearby shop and fell victim to the bomb attack.

Police are examining CCTV footage and trying to identify the attackers. At present the intention behind this attack is not known. These incidents are increasing amid political tension in Dhaka, and the situation is continuously worsening.
