Bangladesh vs Pakistan 2026 ODI Series in Doubt as Travel Plans Remain Uncertain

The Bangladesh vs Pakistan 2026 ODI series, scheduled to be held in Mirpur, faces uncertainty due to rising geopolitical tensions that have cast doubt over Pakistan’s travel plans for the three-match contest.

The geopolitical conflicts between Israel, Iran, the UAE, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and more have brought a cloud of uncertainty, as Pakistan will proceed if the prevailing situation does not escalate travel risks or security concerns.

“The ongoing regional tensions have made the tour uncertain, which, according to the insiders, would only proceed if the prevailing situation does not escalate travel risks or security concerns,” said a Pakistan media.

As per the schedule, the Pakistan men’s cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on March 09 for the 50-over matches which is set to be played on March 11, 13 and 15 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

The Bangladesh vs Pakistan 2026 ODI series will serves as the preparation for the upcoming Men’s ODI World Cup 2027 which is scheduled to be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

While the reports in Pakistan have indicated to the series in under a cloud of uncertainty, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have insisted they have not received any official communication from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the postponement of the series.

“If this comes to a stage where they can’t travel, then we cannot do anything. But so far we haven’t received any correspondence from the PCB in that regard,” said BCB cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedin.

Pakistan has recently crashed out of the T20 World Cup 2026 in the Super 8s stage. Salman Agha-led Men in Green finished third in the group 02 with three points. Meanwhile, New Zealand has been qualified to the semi-finals with a better run rate.

On the other hand Bangaldesh has been forced to withdraw from the T20 World Cup after they refused to play their game in India. Scotland was named as the replacement for the Bangladesh where they got knocked out of the tournament in the group stages.
