The board has made it clear that the final decision on the participation of Bangladeshi players in PSL will be taken after the approval of the government.

Players already got NOC

In fact, in the Pakistan Super League 2026 auction, six Bangladeshi players Mustafizur Rahman, Parvez Hussain Emon, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, Tanjeed Hasan Tamim and Rishad Hussain have already been issued NOC for PSL. All these players have been selected for different franchises for PSL 2026.

Government’s decision is important

Cricket Operations Chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board, Nazmul Abedin clarified that usually players take part in the league directly by taking NOC, but considering the current situation, safety is being given top priority. He said that before the players tour Pakistan, it will be formally ensured from the government whether it is safe to go there or not. Now the final decision regarding the participation of Bangladeshi players in PSL 2026 will be taken after the approval of the government.

Officials believe that it is not possible for the board to fully understand the current situation, in such a situation the government’s advice will be very important. He made it clear that only if the government considers it safe to travel to Pakistan, players will be allowed to participate in the league.

Team combination may be affected

According to a Cricbuzz report, if the players are allowed to travel to Pakistan to participate in the PSL, they may be left out of the training camp for the Bangladesh vs New Zealand white-ball series starting in late March. Three ODI and three T20 matches are to be played between the two teams on this tour, due to which the team combination may also be affected.
