Bank Holiday April 2026: Banks across the country will remain closed for several days during the month of April FY 2026 due to festivals, public events and regular weekends. The month of April begins with a bank holiday. Most of the banks are closed as April 1st is the last day of the financial year. On this day, banks complete their annual audit and accounts, so there are no transactions between branches. Apart from this, there will be several days of holidays in the month of April due to various festivals. Banks in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram cities will remain closed on April 2 Maundy. Also, since April 3 is Good Friday, banks will also be closed in most cities.

On April 14, Dr. Banks will remain closed in many parts of the country due to Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Baisakhi and Tamil New Year. April 15 will also be a holiday in select cities for Bengali New Year, Bohag Bihu, Vishu and Himachal Day. April 16 will be Bohag Bihu holiday in Guwahati. Also, there will be a holiday in Bangalore and some cities as April 20 is Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya. Banks will remain closed on April 21 on the occasion of Gariya Puja.

Apart from this, banks will also remain closed due to regular weekly holidays. 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th April will be holiday as Sunday and second and fourth Saturday will be holiday on 11th April and 25th April respectively. Due to all these holidays, bank branches will be closed for many days in the month of April. However, to the relief of customers, internet banking, mobile banking and UPI services will continue, so transactions like money transfer, bill payment can be done easily.

Keeping in mind the holidays, customers should plan bank operations such as checking deposits, cash withdrawals or other important banking activities around the holidays to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
