On which days will banks be closed?

The month of January is full of festivals and national holidays, so it is important to know when banks are open and closed.

  • Banks will remain closed in West Bengal and Odisha on 23 January 2026 due to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti and Saraswati Puja.
  • January 24, 2026 is the fourth Saturday of the month, due to which all banks will remain closed across the country.
  • There will be a weekly holiday due to Sunday, January 25, 2026.
  • Republic Day is on 26th January. This day will be a national holiday.
  • Therefore, between January 23 and 26, banks in many states may remain closed for four consecutive days.

  • Holi: 3 March (Tuesday)
  • Good Friday: 3 April (Friday)
  • Independence Day: 15 August (Saturday)
  • Dussehra: 20 October (Tuesday)
  • Diwali: 8 November (Sunday)
  • Christmas: 25 December (Friday)
