Banka Suicide Case: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Banka district of Bihar. Here a man, his wife and minor son committed suicide by consuming poison. The whole matter is of Amarpur police station area in Balua village on Friday night. According to media reports, this suicide was due to financial crisis. Regarding this incident, police station in-charge Pankaj Kumar Jha said that 40-year-old Kanhai Mahato first consumed poisonous substance himself and then forced his wife Geeta (35) and his three children to consume poison. The youngest son Rakesh immediately spat out the poison and informed his grandmother living nearby about the incident.

As soon as information about this tragic incident was received, the people nearby took all the family members to the local health center. After this he was referred to Bhagalpur Hospital. Kanhai Mahato was declared dead on reaching the hospital, while his wife and 12-year-old son Dheeraj died during treatment. Whereas 16 year old daughter Savita is undergoing treatment in ICU in critical condition and is struggling between life and death.
The family was drowned in a debt of Rs 20 lakh.
According to the police, Kanhai Mahato had taken a loan of about Rs 20 lakh from different financial institutions. According to the neighbours, recently recovery agents had come to his house and demanded payment of the installments, due to which he came under mental stress and took this dreadful step. Amarpur police station in-charge said that further action will be taken on the basis of written statement of the family members. The local administration has assured the family of all possible help.
