Banner put up in front of house, Congress-BJP fight, full story of Bellary incident

There was such a ruckus over putting up a banner in Bellary, Karnataka that one person died. All this happened on Thursday and tension remains on Friday also. Heavy police force is also deployed in the area. the police FIR Have also registered.

 

This entire controversy is related to the installation of banners related to the unveiling of Valmiki’s statue. Congress MLA Bharat Reddy was to unveil this statue on January 3. An attempt was made to put up the same banner outside the house of BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy, after which the ruckus increased.

 

Police said that the situation remained tense in Bellary even on Friday after a clash over putting up banners. Police say one person died in the clash that took place on Thursday. A senior police officer said, The situation is under control and additional security has been deployed. At present the situation is peaceful but all precautionary measures have been taken to avoid any untoward incident.

Valmiki’s statue is to be unveiled in Bellary on January 3. Banners of this program were being put up. Police said supporters of Congress MLA Bharath Reddy tried to put up banners in front of the house of BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy in Avambhavi area.

 

This was opposed by supporters of Janardhan Reddy. A debate started between the supporters of both the MLAs regarding this. Police say that what started as just an argument soon turned into a scuffle. Supporters from both sides reportedly pelted stones.

 

It is being told that when the police reached here after receiving the news of the clash, they were also allegedly pelted with stones.

 

 

Police said that as the situation started getting out of control, lathi charge and aerial firing was done to disperse the crowd. Police said that many people were injured in this incident.

 

One person, identified as Rajashekhar, died in the clash. Rajasekhar is said to be a supporter of Congress MLA Bharath Reddy.

Allegations against BJP MLA

On the complaint of a person named Chanal Shekhar, the police FIR Have registered. Chanal Shekhar said in his complaint that MLA Bharat Reddy is getting development work done across the city. Under this, the statue of Valmiki is to be unveiled near SP Circle.

 

He alleged that on the evening of January 1 at 6:30 From 7:30 BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy, Somashekhar Reddy and some people damaged the banners between 1000 hrs.

 

He said that when he and Satish Reddy questioned the damage to the banners, the accused along with their supporters fought and attacked them with the intention of killing them.

10 including BJP MLAFIR

Police said that on the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against 10 people including BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy at Brucepet police station. FIR Has been registered.

 

According to the police, a case has been registered against BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy, Somashekar Reddy and 9 others under the Indian Justice Code (BNS) Under sections 109 (attempt to murder), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 191(2) (rioting), 189(2) (unlawful assembly), 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 190 (making every member of an unlawful assembly guilty of an offence), 352 (disturbing peace) and 351(2) FIR Has been registered.

 

A video of this entire incident is also going viral on social media, in which a person is allegedly seen firing bullets in the air.

BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy has blamed the supporters of the Congress MLA on this entire matter. He said, A group gathered outside my house to put up the banner. The police intervened and chased them away. We thought the matter was resolved.

 

 

He said, Later about 30-40 people came back with guns and beer bottles and sat outside my house and started asking me to come out. I was not there but I immediately informed the police and senior leaders.

 

he adds, This was a deliberate attempt to create ruckus and disturb peace in Bellary over the issue of Valmiki statue. They want politics, not development.
