So in South Korea Hyundai Motor The company’s Ulsan factory boasts the world’s largest car manufacturing facility. This industrial complex is not just a factory but an independent ‘automobile city’.
Started in 1968, the factory has an area of about 50 lakh square meters (over 1,200 acres). It has five separate manufacturing plants, engine and transmission manufacturing units and its own separate port for vehicle exports. The factory produces around 5,500 to 6,000 vehicles per day, while the annual production capacity is over 15 lakh vehicles.

A special feature of the Ulsan factory is its tremendous efficiency. Here, on an average, every 10 to 12 seconds, a new vehicle is manufactured and released. About 34,000 employees work in this factory.
The factory manufactures Hyundai’s popular SUVs, sedans and luxury vehicles, along with the Genesis brand of cars. Products manufactured here are exported to nearly 200 countries. Every day thousands of vehicles are loaded onto ships from the factory’s own port for export.

of the future Electric vehiclesConsidering the demand, Hyundai has started setting up Korea’s first EV production center in Ulsan. The project aims to produce 200,000 electric vehicles annually with an investment of around 2 trillion won, which is roughly $1.5 billion.
Considered a symbol of South Korea’s industrial progress, the factory is today a model for the automotive industry, manufacturing technology and management worldwide.
