Barcelona in active talks to open next phase of Spotify Camp Nou; Eye capacity boost to 62,000

FC Barcelona are moving closer to opening the next phase of the revamped Spotify Camp Nou, with the club currently engaged in active and positive discussions with the City Council to secure the necessary operating licenses. According to reports from Diario Sport, the negotiations have progressed well, raising optimism within the club that approval could arrive soon.

Barcelona, who have been playing in a partially completed stadium during the ongoing renovation works, currently welcome around 45,000 spectators for home fixtures. However, if the City Council grants the green light, the club plans to increase the stadium’s operational capacity to 62,000, marking a significant step forward in their broader Espai Barça redevelopment project.

The boosted capacity is expected to improve both matchday revenue and the overall atmosphere inside the stadium, which has been affected since the temporary reduction in seating. Fans have eagerly awaited this next milestone, and club officials view the expansion as essential ahead of key fixtures in the second half of the season.
