Barricades removed around Udaipur City Palace after Dhuni Darshan – ..

Udaipur, 28 November (HS). The controversy that continued for three days regarding the darshan of Prayaggiri Maharaj’s Dhuni located in the City Palace of Udaipur after the traditional coronation ceremony of Vishvaraj Singh of the former royal family of Mewar, ended with the darshan on Wednesday evening. After this, barricades were removed from City Palace Road on Thursday morning. Nearby shops also opened on Thursday. However, the City Palace is closed and prohibitory orders are still in place.

It is noteworthy that due to a family property dispute, Lakshyaraj, son of Arvind Singh Mewar, uncle of Vishvaraj Singh, who was occupying Udaipur City Palace, had closed the doors of the City Palace. After the uproar on Monday, the administration had attached the disputed site and appointed a receiver the same night. No solution was found even on Tuesday. After the intervention of the Chief Minister on Wednesday, the administration made arrangements for darshan in the evening.

The district administration had issued a notice on November 25 to former royal family member Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar as an opposition regarding the disputed property in City Palace, seeking a reply within 2 days. Lakshyaraj Mewar has submitted its answer to the administration a day ago. Collector Arvind Poswal says that we have received the reply to the notice. Next action will be taken only after seeing the reply. Till then the area from Badi Pol in City Palace to Dhuni and Zanana Mahal will remain under the government. Where the receiver will be responsible for maintaining law and order.

Here, two cases have been registered against unknown people at Ghantaghar police station regarding the stone pelting from inside the City Palace on Monday and the protest outside. Police say that the accused will be identified after examining the video made by the police and the CCTV footage installed nearby. In this incident of stone pelting, about 4 to 5 people including a policeman and a woman were injured.
