Pakistan had their 6th consecutive Test defeat when they met an innings defeat to England in the first Test of the series. Babar Azam’s scores were poor in the match: 30 and 5 in the first and second innings, respectively. This made the management bench Babar in the second Test and gave a chance for uncapped Kamran Ghulam. But this brought in a lot of public outrage. One of the main critics of this decision was Michael Vaughan, who called it ‘a stupid decision’ as the former England cricketer believed Babar deserved more opportunities.
