Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl says Nicolas Jackson will not be signed on permanent transfer

Senegal and Bayern Munich striker Nicolas Jackson is due to return to English Premier League side Chelsea after a season-long loan, and Bayern’s board member for sport Max Eberl confirmed the club do not plan to activate a permanent transfer clause.

Eberl told a show on German broadcaster ZDF that “we will not activate the permanent transfer clause for Jackson” after confirming the clause won’t be automatically triggered.

The attacker was signed in September on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

While generally deployed as an understudy to Harry Kane, Jackson has seven goals in 20 Bundesliga appearances this season. He has started and scored in each of Bayern’s last three Bundesliga games, including a strike that sparked a remarkable 4-3 comeback win in Mainz yesterday.

Having helped to secure the Bundesliga title already, Jackson has a chance to see out his loan spell in Munich with more silverware.

Bayern are in action at Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, while they have booked their spot in the DFB Cup Final against VfB Stuttgart in Berlin on 23 May.
