Big increase in match fees of domestic women cricketers
According to sources, BCCI has increased the match fees of women domestic cricketers from Rs 20,000 per day to Rs 50,000 per day. Along with this, the fee of reserve players, which was earlier Rs 10,000 per day, has been increased to Rs 25,000. This increase is more than 100 percent, which will provide great financial support to women players.
Payment system changed after World Cup victory
Women’s cricket has got a huge boost after India’s historic victory in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. After this success, BCCI decided to change the payment system of women domestic cricketers. Team India became the women’s world champion for the first time this year, after which the board took this step towards further strengthening the players.

Speaking to ANI, Rajiv Shukla said that BCCI has taken another big step to take women’s cricket forward. He told that earlier there was equality in salary between male and female players and now the match fees of female players in domestic cricket has been increased. During the tenure of Jay Shah, who was BCCI Secretary from 2019 to 2024, many important decisions were taken for women’s cricket. During this period, pay parity between male and female international cricketers was implemented, professional leagues were expanded and investment was increased at the grassroots level.
