BCCI Rejects ICC Request, No Handshake Session Continues In India-Pakistan Match! Ayush Mhatre refused to shake hands

U19 Asia Cup India vs Pakistan No Handshake : Asia Cup Under 19 match is going on today between India and Pakistan. The Indian captain did not shake hands in this match. There is currently a lot of discussion on social media due to non-handshake. Asia Cup 2025 was held in September, the Indian team won this year’s Asia Cup. During the Asia Cup 2025, India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav did not shake hands with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha. India’s U-19 team has also continued this practice.

India U-19 captain Ayush did not shake hands with Pakistan captain Farhan Yousuf during the toss on Sunday. Although the ICC wanted players from both teams to shake hands in the match, India did not do so. This is in compliance with the no-handshake protocol adopted by the Indian men’s team during the recent Asia Cup 2025. He refused to shake hands with Pakistan in all three matches and also refused to accept the trophy from Asian Cricket Council president Mohsin Naqvi, who is also Pakistan’s home minister. India later adopted the same stance in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, where captain Harmanpreet Kaur also maintained the same strategy.

Earlier, PTI had reported that if the Indian team does not want to shake hands, they will have to inform the ICC in advance so that they can inform the match referee. A BCCI official told PTI, “The players have not been told anything, but the BCCI has given these instructions to the team managers.

If the Indian team does not want to shake hands now, they have to inform the ICC first.” He said, “We know that the ICC does not want politics to enter junior cricket. But it is a matter of public sentiment.” Vaibhav Suryavanshi was expected to perform well in the match against Pakistan and score runs with his explosive batting. But, it didn’t happen. He was dismissed for five runs in six balls. He hit only one boundary in his innings.
