The board has made it clear in its guidelines that no team will be allowed to practice on the match day in IPL 2026. BCCI has taken this decision to keep the ground in better condition on the match day and to manage the busy schedule.
Special arrangements regarding Wankhede
Special arrangements have been made for practice at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Here each team will be given 2 different wickets. Under the new rules of BCCI, teams will get only two nets and one side wicket in the practice area for range heating. No team will be able to use the wicket of the opposing team. According to the report of Cricbuzz, open nets will not be allowed. Even if the other team’s practice ends early, the opposing team will not be able to use that wicket.

family entry strict
Apart from this, BCCI has also limited the entry of players’ family and friends in its new guidelines. Now only authorized staff will get entry in the dressing room and on the field. Besides, fitness test on the match day has also been banned. During practice, players will have to travel in the team bus only. During this period, family members will not be allowed to travel with the players.
