He further wrote in his statement, “As this was his team’s first offense of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, Shreyas Iyer has been fined Rs 12 lakh.”

It is worth noting that on one hand, Punjab Kings has started the 2026 IPL season with a win, but on the other hand, the team’s opening match was nothing special for Captain Shreyas Iyer.
