BCCI will give Rs 131 crore to the team if it wins the World Cup, how will the players distribute it among themselves?

Money has been raining on Team India since winning the T20 World Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the reward for Team India winning the T20 World Cup. BCCI will give a total of Rs 131 crore to Team India. This is the largest amount being given to any team till now. Earlier in 2024, BCCI had given a total of Rs 125 crore to Team India. Now after winning the title for the second consecutive time, money is raining on the team again.

Giving information about this decision, BCCI said, ‘The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced to give a cash prize of Rs 131 crore to Team India after its excellent performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Board once again congratulates the players, support staff and selectors on this historic achievement and wishes them success in the future also.

How will the money be distributed?

When BCCI announced a reward of Rs 131 crore, questions started rising in people’s minds as to whose pocket these Rs 131 crore will go to. That is, how will it be divided among the players of Team India. BCCI has not made public any formula regarding this. However, news agency PTI has given information about this quoting sources. According to a PTI report, this amount includes 15 players, coaching staff and other support staff. That means, along with the players, the coaching and support staff will also get this money.

Players will get a bigger share

PTI reports that a source in BCCI has informed that a major portion of Rs 131 crore will be given to the players. Apart from this, the amount of reward for coaching and support staff will be decided according to their post. A person holding a higher position will get a higher amount.

Second consecutive title

Team India has become the first team to win the T20 World Cup twice consecutively. Apart from this, it has become the first team to win the title more than twice. Team India’s performance in this entire tournament was excellent. Team India won all its matches in the league stage. However, the team had to face defeat at the hands of South Africa in the Super 8.

After losing to South Africa in the Super-8, India defeated West Indies and Zimbabwe to reach the semi-finals. After defeating England badly in the semi-finals, the Indian team made it to the finals. In the final match, the Indian team won one-sidedly against New Zealand and became the first team to win the title at home.
