Gautam Gambhir will be removed from the post of head coach, BCCI offered this Indian legend to become the coach.

Ever since Gautam Gambhir became the coach of the Indian team, Team India’s performance in Tests has been very poor. The performance of Team India in the remaining ODIs is satisfactory, while the performance of the Indian team in T20 is very excellent. Under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, the Indian team had to face clean sweep at home against New Zealand and South Africa, while it also faced defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

Since then, the demand to remove Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir from the coaching of the Test team had intensified and now the news is coming that BCCI has also considered about it and has contacted a new coach.

Team India’s performance in Test under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir

Under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, the Indian team has played 19 matches, during which the Indian team has won only 7 matches, in which Team India has won 2 matches against Bangladesh, 1 Australia, 2 England and 2 matches against West Indies, while 2 matches have been drawn against Australia and England respectively. Whereas the Indian team has lost 10 matches, which includes 3 matches against New Zealand, 3 matches against Australia, 2 matches against England and 2 matches against South Africa.

In Tests, Team India has faced defeat for the first time in 10 years in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, while at home, the record of clean sweep has happened after 25 years under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir.

BCCI contacted VVS Laxman

According to news agency PTI, a BCCI official had approached VVS Laxman and wanted to probe his mind, BCCI is looking for a new coach for the Tests. BCCI contacted VVS Laxman regarding this, but if reports are to be believed, VVS Laxman does not want to become the regular coach of the Indian team.

When a BCCI official asked VVS Laxman about becoming the Test coach of Team India, he said that he is happy to be the ‘Head of Cricket’ at the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. In such a situation, it will be very interesting to see whether BCCI succeeds in convincing VVS Laxman or contacts someone else.
