Naman Awards 2026 : BCCI has announced Naman Award 2026. In this year’s award, Shubman Gill from the men’s team and Smriti Mandhana from the women’s team will be honored with ‘Cricket of the Year’. Besides, awards have also been announced for players like Roger Binny, Rahul Dravid. This ceremony will be organized in Delhi on 15 March.
Gill-Mandhana awarded ‘Polly Umrigar Cricket of the Year’
Shubhman Gill from the men’s team and Smriti Mandhana from the women’s team will be honored with the ‘Cricket of the Year’ award. It is also known as ‘Polly Umrigar Cricket of the Year’. Gill is the player to receive this title for the second time. With this, Gill will be on par with Sachin Tendulkar and R Ashwin. Former captain Virat Kohli has won this award five times and Jasprit Bumrah three times.
Got a reward for excellent performance
Let us tell you that Shubman performed brilliantly in the year 2025. During this period, he batted brilliantly and scored 983 runs in Test cricket and a total of 490 runs in ODIs. Gill’s bat played very well in IPL also. Gill scored 650 runs while captaining Gujarat Titans. BCCI rewarded Gill for this performance. However, despite good innings, Gill did not get a place in the team in the T20 World Cup.
Three former players received lifetime achievement awards
Former Indian players and BCCI President Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid were named after Colonel C.K. Naidu has been nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award. During Dravid’s coaching tenure, India became T20 world champion in 2024. Along with the men’s team, former captain Mithali Raj has also been nominated from the women’s team.
Young cricketers also honored
BCCI has also given rewards to young cricketers. Under-19 World Cup winning team captain Ayush Mhatre has been selected for the best all-rounder in the limited overs tournament. It is also known as Lala Amarnath Award.
Harsh Dubey, who has performed brilliantly in domestic cricket, has been selected for the best all-rounder. Harsh plays for Vidarbha.
These teams will also be honored
In this awards ceremony, BCCI will honor all the five teams, which had recently won all the five ICC tournaments. This includes the winning teams of Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, 2026, Women’s World Cup 2025, Champions Trophy 2025, Under-19 World Cup 2026.
