BCL Season 2: Shikhar Dhawan will be seen playing for this league, retained as marquee player
Noida. Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan has been retained by UP Bridge Stars as a marquee player for Season 2 of the Big Cricket League (BCL), the franchise announced. Dhawan, who was one of the biggest attractions in the first edition, will once again be a featured presence in the tournament, and will bring his international experience and star appeal to the UP-based franchise. The announcement coincides with a major personal milestone for Dhawan, who married his longtime partner in a small ceremony attended by close friends and family.
Season 2 of the league will be held at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium. The player auction took place on 16 February, while the tournament is to be played from 11 March to 22 March. UP Bridge Stars management welcomed Dhawan’s retention, saying that his leadership skills, experience and match-winning ability will play a key role in the team’s campaign this season.
The upcoming edition is expected to be a fierce competition with top players playing as the league returns to Greater Noida.
