We download different apps in our phones for our work. Once our work is done, we do not open this app again and we also forget to delete the app. This app remains in our phones for many months. Thus, a lot of apps get accumulated in our smartphones and we use very few of these apps in our daily lives. But many smartphone users do not know that unused apps can cause big problems for us. Keeping this security of the users in mind, Google has now brought a new update.
Old apps can become a big threat to you
Just because an app is old doesn’t mean it’s been in use for years. We have been using apps like YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp for last many years. But these apps keep getting updated with time, so there is not much danger while using these apps. But when a developer shuts down or shuts down an app or Google removes that app from the Play Store, it becomes a big threat.
Since app updates are discontinued and the app is not upgraded with the phone’s system, it is very easy to hack such apps. When developers stop releasing updates for an app, there is no one to take responsibility of the app or release upgrades for it, and hackers can take advantage of this to hack such apps.
Google Play Protect System
Currently, Google’s Play Protect system scans apps and checks their security. This system scans the device and blocks dangerous apps. If an app is found stealing your credentials or accessing other data or files without permission, the system immediately sends a notification to the user. With the help of this system, dangerous apps can be detected. However, this system cannot detect apps that have been delisted by developers or have not been upgraded. Now Google is working to fill this gap. Preparations are also being made to release a new update for this.
Google will bring a new update
Now Google will notify users about apps that have been removed from the Play Store. For this, a new feature is now being tested. After the rollout of this feature, if any app installed on the phone is removed from the Play Store, Google will inform the users through a notification. Based on this information, users will be able to decide whether they want to keep the concerned app in the phone or delete it.
