‘Because I am injured, hence I am fatal’… Raghav Chadha hit back at Aam Aadmi Party, said- every lie will be exposed

New Delhi. The war of words between the Aam Aadmi Party and its Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha intensified on Saturday when Chadha rejected the allegations made by the party and said that a “planned campaign” has been launched against him. Terming the allegations as “false”, Chadha said, “I have always raised public issues in Parliament; I am there to put pressure on the government, not to create ruckus.

Quoting a dialogue from the film “Dhurandhar”, Chadha said in a video message, “Every lie will be exposed. Because I am injured, I am fatal.” Chadha’s reaction came a day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a scathing attack on him, accusing him of shying away from raising his voice in Parliament against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government. A day after being removed from the post of AAP’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, Chadha had said on Friday, “Don’t mistake my silence for my defeat.”

Chadha termed as “blatant lie” the allegation that he did not walk out with the opposition parties. He challenged his critics to cite a single example where he had not participated (in a walkout). Refuting another allegation of refusing to sign the resolution related to the Chief Election Commissioner, Chadha said no party leader had formally or informally asked him to sign it.

Chadha said that many other MPs from his party had also not signed the proposal. He said that he does not want to answer, but if a lie is repeated continuously then it also starts to seem like the truth. Chadha said, “The first charge leveled against me was that I did not walk out with the opposition. This is a blatant lie, and I challenge you (Aam Aadmi Party) to tell me even a single example, even a single incident, where the opposition has staged a walkout and I have not supported them. CCTV cameras are installed everywhere in Parliament. Show me the footage, everything will become clear.

The MP said, “They are saying that I am scared that is why I am raising useless issues. I want to tell you that I did not go to Parliament to create ruckus, shout, break the mic or use abusive language. I had gone there to raise the problems of the people.” He said that his focus in Parliament has been on raising public issues like GST, Income Tax, air pollution in Delhi, water related problems in Punjab, public health service, education, railway passenger issues, unemployment and inflation. Chadha said that he goes to Parliament not to create ruckus but to raise issues related to the public, because it is run on taxpayers’ money and it is his responsibility to highlight the concerns of the people.
