Before buying a SIM, know the fastest network in your area, you will save money and calls will not be disconnected.
Mobile Network Coverage Check: It often happens that we buy a SIM from a telecom company, but later we come to know that its network connectivity is weak in our area. Dropped calls, slow internet and frequent network disappearances become major problems. But what if before buying a SIM you know which network is the strongest in your area? The good thing is that there is a “secret setting” in your smartphone itself, which can provide this information within minutes.
What is the secret setting of the phone?
This is called a secret setting because usually the network selection in the phone is set to automatic mode. Most people don’t change it. When you set this setting to manual, the phone scans for all available telecom networks around you. This lets you know which operators are available in your area and whether they are providing 2G, 3G, 4G or 5G services. Based on this information you can decide which SIM you should buy for 4G or which network will be better for 5G.
How to check the best network in your area
To find out the strongest network in your area, follow the simple steps below:
- First of all go to the Settings of the phone.
- There click on the option of Mobile Networks or SIM Info.
- Now select Operator or Network Operators option.
- Turn off Auto Select Network shown here.
After this your phone will start scanning all the networks present nearby. Within a few minutes you will see the complete list of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks.

How to understand the list of networks?
When the list of networks appears, the network that appears at the top is considered to be the strongest in your area. The network which is at the bottom of the list will have relatively weak signal strength. In this way you can easily understand which operator is providing better connectivity in your area.
Keep this important thing in mind
Do network testing not only indoors but also outside. Many times the signal is weak inside the house, while it is strong outside. After testing both at home and outside, the network you choose will prove to be better for your daily needs.
