Before the elections, Akhilesh Yadav called the cabinet expansion a show off.
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at Yogi cabinet expansion before the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. He described it as ‘appeasing the angry’, raised questions on the budget and development, and attacked the government in the Gorakhpur and Jhansi cases.
Lucknow: Before the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, discussions about cabinet expansion of Yogi Adityanath government have intensified. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav has reacted on this issue. Akhilesh Yadav called it an extension to appease the angry people and took a dig at the state government.
Akhilesh Yadav’s statement
Akhilesh Yadav said, “The real expansion of the government and development will happen in 2027. This expansion of the cabinet is to appease the angry ones. When the budget money is completely spent, then new ministers will be made.” He also said that the budgets of many departments are being approved quickly, which clearly indicates that the government is taking this step as part of its election strategy.
Attack on Lucknow’s Green Corridor
Akhilesh Yadav also cornered the government on the issue of Green Corridor of Lucknow. He said, “Defence Minister Rajnath Singh might have tried to make a green corridor for Lucknow, but the Chief Minister made it not a green but a ruined corridor.
There is no space for pedestrians in this corridor and it is against the road design standards.” He said that the project was implemented incompletely and wrongly, neglecting the convenience and safety of the public.
Serious allegations against BJP leaders
Akhilesh Yadav accused BJP leaders regarding the case of theft of a truck filled with gas cylinders in Jhansi. He said, “A truck full of gas cylinders had gone missing in Jhansi and many big BJP leaders were involved in it. When the truck returned, more than half the cylinders were missing.” According to him, this is not just a case of ordinary theft but political patronage and misuse of power has been seen in it.
Failure of law and order in Gorakhpur
Referring to an incident that took place in Gorakhpur, Akhilesh Yadav said that the law and order situation has completely deteriorated. Appealing to the public, he said, “Law and order cannot improve without removing this government. The police is working only for show. A policy of elephant hot and police soft has been adopted.” His statement came during the Malti Devi Mahila Samman Ceremony, where he expressed serious concern over the failures of law and order in the state.
