Tezzbuzz Desk- The ongoing debate regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill in the special session of Parliament has now reached a decisive point. After a long discussion that lasted till late Thursday night, the debate on this issue continued in the Lok Sabha on Friday and now important voting is to be held on it at 4 pm.
Just before voting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to all the MPs through social media platform X to vote in favor of women’s reservation. He said in his message that there has been a detailed and serious discussion on this bill in the Parliament, in which every question and apprehension has been answered.
The Prime Minister wrote that for the last four decades, politics has been taking place on an important issue like women’s reservation, but now the time has come that half of the country’s population should get their rights. He said that even after so many years of independence, the limited representation of women in the decision-making process is worrying.
He urged all political parties and MPs to take decisions with sensitivity and wisdom and vote in support of women’s reservation. PM Modi also said that the eyes of crores of women of the country are fixed on this decision and no such step should be taken which will hurt their sentiments.
In another message, he made an emotional appeal asking the MPs to listen to their conscience while remembering the women in their families – mothers, sisters, daughters and wives. He called it a historic opportunity to empower the women power of the country.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that this amendment will be passed unanimously, which will not only provide new opportunities to women, but will also strengthen the country’s democracy. Now all eyes are on this important voting in the Lok Sabha, which can prove to be a big turning point in Indian politics.
