Bengal government’s new scheme, 10th pass youth will get Rs 1,500 every month, application starts from February 15

Mamata Banerjee’s government in West Bengal had announced “Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme” while presenting Budget 2026. Applications for this are going to start from 15th February. The last date for registration is 26th February 2026. This scheme is going to start with the new financial year i.e. from 1st April. Its objective is to promote employment.

Under this scheme (Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme), 10th pass youth will be given Rs 1500 every month by the government. Initially the grant will be given for 5 years. After this, if someone remains unemployed, a decision can be taken after review. The scheme has been launched for those students who have passed 10th or equivalent examination but have not got any job till now. However, some conditions will also apply for this. Who can avail the benefits?

Secondary i.e. 10th pass or equivalent candidates can apply. Their age should be minimum 21 years and maximum 40 years as on January 1, 2026. Keep in mind that applicants are not covered under any social security scheme other than scholarship. Students who have enrolled for full time regular course will not be eligible. People who are already doing any government job on temporary or contract basis will also not get this benefit. People associated with Yuva Shree/Widow Pension/Lakshmi Bhandar Schemes also cannot avail its benefits.

How to avail benefits?

Special camps will be organized in every assembly constituency under the government-at-home model. During this period, candidates can apply directly with the necessary documents.
