Bengali actress Parno Mitra will leave BJP and join Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress today.

Kolkata. Bharatiya Janata Party is going to get a big shock in the politics of West Bengal on Friday. Actress and BJP leader Parno Mitra is going to be included in the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party. He will be formally inducted into the party by Minister of State Chandrima Bhattacharya. There is a strong discussion in political circles about Parno leaving BJP and joining TMC.

Parno Mitra’s acting career started in 2007. On the small screen, she first came into the audience’s notice in Ravi Ojha’s popular series ‘Khela’. After that she debuted on the big screen with Anjan Dutt. Parno got recognition as the heroine of the film ‘Ranjana Aami R Asab Na’.

After this she appeared in many famous films one after the other. Parno’s films include critically acclaimed and popular films like ‘Bedroom’, ‘Anch Mashti Aur Moor’, ‘Rajkahani’, ‘Alinagar Golakdhadha’, ‘Apur Panchali’, ‘Ank Ki Chhad’. Due to his popularity in choosing characters and acting, he has made his place in the Bengali film industry.

He entered politics in 2019. In the same year, Parno received the Padma Shri award. Apart from acting, she also became active in the political field. The special thing is that Parno had contested the 2021 assembly elections as a BJP candidate from Baranagar Centre. However, she could not win that election. Since then many speculations were being made about his role in politics. Some political analysts believe that his low activity within BJP and his close relations with TMC leadership are the reasons for today’s decision.

Trinamool leader Shishir said that as a well-known face in the cultural world, Parno’s inclusion will further strengthen the team. The ruling parties want to take advantage of his popularity, especially in Kolkata city and surrounding areas. On the other hand, there is no need to explain the uneasiness that this incident has created within the BJP. The addition of another well-known face to party politics has added a new dimension to the equation of state politics.
