Bengaluru Crime: PG owner beaten to death with cricket bat for stopping him from drinking alcohol, two students arrested
Bengaluru PG Owner Murder Case: A minor dispute turned violent in Bengaluru, resulting in the death of a paying guest (PG) hostel owner. Madhav Matle (37), owner of Lakshmi Narasimha PG in OMBR Layout in East Bengaluru, was allegedly beaten to death with a cricket bat. The incident occurred when Madhav stopped two youths outside the hostel from drinking alcohol and behaving inappropriately on the premises.
As the argument escalated, the matter escalated into a fight. According to the police, in anger Madhav brought a cricket bat, but the two students snatched the bat and attacked him. Seriously injured Madhav was taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment. Police have arrested two B.Com and BBA students in the case and investigation into the entire incident is underway.
BCom and BBA students arrested
The deceased has been identified as PG Hostel owner Madhav Matle (37). The accused have been identified as Rakesh (21), a final year B.Com student, and Don Bright (20), a first year BBA student, and have been arrested. Rakesh is a resident of Kammanahalli and Don Bright is a resident of Jeevanahalli in Bengaluru.
Controversy started over drinking alcohol
According to the police, the main reason behind the incident is said to be an argument between the victim and the accused. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the PG owner had earlier also forbidden both the youths from drinking alcohol in front of the hostel, which was the root of the dispute. On the day of the incident, when some youths were washing their feet with tap water inside the campus, Madhav objected to their action. A debate started between both the parties regarding this matter, which later escalated.
PG owner dies in attack with bat
After which there was an argument between both the parties. Police said the situation worsened during the fight and cricket bats were used in the fight. The victim Madhav, in anger, brought a cricket bat from the PG hostel to hit the two students. It is alleged that the accused snatched the bat from him and attacked him, due to which he suffered serious injuries. The victim was immediately taken for treatment but died from his injuries.

Investigation of witnesses and evidence continues
According to police sources, the attack was carried out after the victim objected to the accused’s behavior in front of the hostel. After the incident, a case was registered and both the accused were taken into custody. So senior police officers took stock of the incident site and started investigation. Authorities are examining witness statements and other evidence to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the murder.
