- salt as per taste
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

Preparing the batter for uttapam is very easy:
- Put gram flour in a bowl.
- Make a smooth batter by mixing curd and water in it.
- Now add salt, turmeric and red chilli in it.
- Mix well and keep it for 10-15 minutes.

- Heat a pan on gas and apply a little oil.
- Add a ladle of batter and spread it lightly.
- Add onion, tomato, green chilli and coriander on top.
- Press lightly so that the vegetables stick.
- Cook on medium flame.
- When it turns golden brown from below, turn it over.
- Cook well from the other side also.
