New Delhi: 2024 was a great year for the South Korean entertainment industry. While K-pop artists gained more recognition and virality, K-dramas became one of the most-watched content throughout the world. It is to be noted that although the South Korean series has been gradually gaining popularity, this year saw a rise in high-quality dramas with complex storylines.
As OTT platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video began adding more and more K-dramas to their catalogue, a larger audience had access to shows they did not before. In India, Kim Ji-won and Kim Soo-hyun’s Queen of Tears became the most-searched K-drama on Google. Now, TIME Magazine has released its list of the 10 best K-Dramas of 2024. As mentioned before, South Korean content became extremely popular on OTT platforms as fans caught up with shows on a weekly basis. As per Time Magazine, Kim Hye-yoon and Byeon Woo-seok’s show Lovely Runner made it to the top of this list. Sun-Jae and Im-Sol’s quirky yet complicated love story had fans in a chokehold, where they took deep dives and attempted to solve the impending mystery on social media every week.
