New Delhi:- On completion of 10 years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that this initiative has played an important role in eliminating gender discrimination. It has also created the right environment to ensure that girls have access to education and opportunities to fulfill their dreams.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was launched by the Prime Minister on 22 January 2015 in Panipat, Haryana. The campaign aims to address issues related to declining child sex ratio and women empowerment across the life cycle.

PM Modi said, 'Today we are completing 10 years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao movement. Over the last decade it has become a transformative people-driven initiative. People from all walks of life have participated in this.

The Prime Minister said that the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign has been instrumental in eliminating gender discrimination and has also created the right environment to ensure that girl children get education and opportunities to fulfill their dreams.

PM Modi said in his post on Twitter, 'Thanks to the dedicated efforts of people and various community service organizations, 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' has achieved remarkable achievements.' Modi said, 'There has been significant improvement in districts with historically low child sex ratio and awareness campaigns have created a deeper understanding of the importance of gender equality.'
He said, 'I appreciate all the stakeholders who have brought this movement alive at the grassroots level. Let us continue to protect the rights of our daughters, ensure their education and create a society where they can grow without any discrimination. Together we can ensure that the years to come bring even greater progress and opportunities for India's daughters.
