Bhagirath Chaudhary said on Rs 99 lakh subsidy controversy: “I did not hide any fact, everything happened as per the rules”

Rajasthan: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Chaudhary has given clarification on the questions being raised regarding the subsidy of about Rs 99 lakh received on his agricultural farm. Describing the entire matter as transparent, he said that he got this benefit completely as per the prescribed government procedure and rules.

“I am a farmer myself”: Bhagirath Chaudhary

Bhagirath Chaudhary said, “I am a farmer and have been doing farming since childhood… I have not hidden anything. Thousands of farmers set up polyhouses and take advantage of the subsidy. I have also taken subsidy under the same process. I also give training to the farmers there on new techniques and natural farming.”

Application was made in 2018, all information public: Minister

The Union Minister of State said that he had applied for this scheme in the year 2018. According to him, there is a board installed on his agricultural farm, in which complete information about loans taken and subsidies received is publicly recorded.

He said that the farm has been inspected several times by the local administration. Apart from this, farmers are also given training in modern agricultural techniques and natural farming.

Bhagirath Chaudhary reiterated that when the entire process has been transparent and as per the rules, then the question of hiding any kind of information does not arise.

What is the whole matter?

According to reports, artificial ponds and four big polyhouses have been built at his agricultural farm located in Peeh village of Ajmer district of Rajasthan.

The board on the farm mentions that the project is aided by the National Horticulture Board (NHB) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. In this, the name of Bhagirath Choudhary and subsidy of about Rs 99,60,000 is recorded as the beneficiary.
