Bhagwant Mann government implemented Chief Minister Health Scheme, every family will get cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has taken such a step in the health sector, which is being seen as an example across the country. Through the Chief Minister Health Scheme, every citizen of the state has been assured that treatment will no longer stop due to lack of money. Under this scheme, cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided annually to each family, which will eliminate the financial burden of treatment on the common people.

What is Chief Minister Health Scheme

Mukhyamantri Swasthya Yojana is a universal health insurance initiative, which aims to ensure free and cashless treatment in government and private hospitals. In this scheme, the patient will not have to make any payment from the time of hospitalization till the completion of the treatment. All expenses will be settled directly between the government and the hospital.

The biggest feature of this scheme is that there is no income limit or social category condition in it. Every native of Punjab can take advantage of this. Families having valid voter ID can join the scheme, while children below 18 years of age will be covered based on the identity of their parent or guardian. Government employees, pensioners and contract workers also come under its purview.

Cashless coverage up to Rs 10 lakh

Under the scheme, health cards will be issued to about 65 lakh families, which will directly benefit about 3 crore citizens. Whereas earlier the limit of treatment was Rs 5 lakh, now it has been increased to Rs 10 lakh. This will provide financial security to families even in the treatment of serious diseases.

Health Card and Registration Process

Chief Minister Health Scheme Health Card will be mandatory for cashless treatment. This card can be obtained through Common Service Center, Suvidha Center or online through Aadhaar and Voter ID. To reach the scheme to as many people as possible, trained youth club members will go door-to-door and help in registration.

Which treatments will be covered?

More than 2,300 treatment packages have been included in this scheme. This includes heart disease, cancer, kidney dialysis, neuro and orthopedic surgery, maternity services, ICU care, emergency treatment and diagnostic services. Medical facilities before and after treatment will also be covered under the scheme.

Strong hospital network

More than 800 hospitals operating on government, private and PPP models are associated with this scheme. From district hospitals to medical colleges, beneficiaries can get treatment at any empaneled hospital in the state. Selected hospitals of Chandigarh have also been included in this.

Basic objective of the scheme

The objective of Chief Minister Health Scheme is clear that no citizen should suffer due to lack of treatment. The scheme establishes Punjab as a state where health services are a right, not a privilege.
