Bharat Taxi: The largest mobility cooperative with 35 lakh users and more than 6 lakh Sarathi.

Gandhinagar. Giving new heights to the spirit of cooperation, ‘Bharat Taxi’ is revolutionizing the digital mobility sector. Fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’, this platform has become a successful example of driver-owned cooperative model.

Bharat Taxi, launched by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on February 5, has now become the country’s largest mobility cooperative with more than 35 lakh users and more than 6 lakh Sarathi (drivers).

According to Jayen Mehta, MD of Amul and Chairman of Bharat Taxi, this model is a big step towards making drivers owners of the company and not employees. The specialty of this platform is that 100 percent of the ride earnings go directly into the drivers’ accounts without any commission deduction. Bharat Taxi has seen drivers’ monthly earnings increase by 25 to 30 percent, eliminating the problem of heavy commissions and uncertain income in traditional aggregator apps.

In the words of the drivers:

Ahmedabad-based driver Praveen Thakor says, “Working in other companies was no longer profitable. After joining Bharat Taxi, we are getting better rates and response. Now we can secure the future of our family.” Janak Barot, another driver, says, “There is zero commission here and the money comes directly into the account. We feel like owners. In comparison to Rs 30 per km in other apps, customers are traveling here for just Rs 17-18 per km. Are.”

Passengers also benefit:

Passengers are having to pay an average 15 percent less fare. Dynamic pricing (surge pricing) has been replaced by a stable and transparent fare structure, which has improved the travel experience.

Extension and Features:
  1. More than 1 lakh drivers are already connected in Gujarat.
  2. After Ahmedabad and Surat, Vadodara is now the next big center of expansion.
  3. Direct connectivity is being increased under the ‘below the line’ strategy in areas like IT parks, housing societies and airports.
  4. Security has been enhanced with SOS integration with Gujarat Police.
  5. Special route connectivity has been provided to pilgrimage sites like Somnath and Dwarka.
  6. So far, more than 10,000 drivers have been trained in digital literacy and soft skills.
  7. Integrated Transit System has been developed with Metro, GSRTC and Airport Authority.

Ajay Kumar Gupta, President of Ahmedabad Rickshaw Pullers Ekta Union, said, “This is ‘Apne Bharat Ki Company’. No commission is taken in it and approval is given in just 12 hours. All the charioteers are appealed to join it.” Bharat Taxi is not only increasing the income and dignity of the drivers, but is also giving a new identity to the cooperative model in the digital age by providing affordable, transparent and safe service to the passengers.
