According to this report, the structures and remains found in the Bhojshala complex indicate that the present mosque was constructed using parts of the ancient temple.
Major Findings of ASI Survey
The ASI report has revealed many shocking facts that shed new light on the history of this disputed site:
Use of temple remains: According to the report, carved stones were found in the walls and pillars of the mosque which were clearly part of Hindu temple architecture.
Sanskrit inscription: During the survey, many inscriptions written in Sanskrit have been found on the walls, which give evidence of the existence of ancient educational institutions or temples.
Fragmentary remains of statues: During excavation and cleaning, fragmentary sculptures and insignia associated with Sanatana Dharma have been recovered from various parts of the complex.
Changes in Architecture: The survey also found that the old structure was covered up or an attempt was made to give it a new look by making changes to it.
What is the whole controversy?
Bhojshala built by Raja Bhoj Temple of Vagdevi (Saraswati) is considered, while the Muslim side considers it Kamal Maula Mosque Says. As per the current arrangement, Hindus perform puja here on Tuesday and Muslims offer namaz on Friday. After this latest survey report, the stir in legal and social circles has intensified.
