Bhojshala Kamal Maula Masjid case, big hearing in MP High Court on February 18, ASI report to be opened
The judicial stir has once again intensified in the much-discussed episode related to Dhar’s historical and controversial Bhojshala Kamal Maula Masjid. The important hearing of this case will now be held on 18 February 2026 in the Jabalpur bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court. Where the detailed 98-day survey report conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will be opened. Earlier, this hearing was proposed on 16th February in Indore bench, but it was postponed due to the lawyers’ strike.
With the report becoming public, many important facts related to the religious and cultural identity of this historical site are likely to come to light. Due to which this matter has once again become the center of discussion at the national level.
Now this case is listed before the division bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf in Jabalpur High Court. The case is pending under registered case number WP 10497/2022, which has been filed by Hindu Front for Justice. In compliance with the order of 22 January 2026 of the Supreme Court and the instructions of 16 February 2026 of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, the 98-day scientific survey report prepared by the Archaeological Survey of India, i.e. ASI, is to be opened. This report will be made public for the first time and will be made available to both the parties.
It is believed that on the basis of this report, an important direction can be decided regarding the actual nature of the disputed building and the religious aspects related to it. Petitioner Ashish Goyal has informed that now the next hearing will be held in Jabalpur High Court. Muslim party Abdul Samad says that on February 16, we had demanded from the court that along with our pending petition in Jabalpur court, this petition should also be heard in Jabalpur. Under the same demand, further hearing will be held in Jabalpur court.
The eyes of the entire state including Hindu and Muslim communities are fixed on the court regarding this important hearing. The developments in this case on 18th February may prove to be decisive for the further legal process.
