Bhumi Pednekar admits past mistakes in her career

Entertainment: Actress Bhumi Pednekar has spoken openly on some decisions of her career. He admitted that many times he did such roles which he later felt were wrong. She said these things during a conversation at the We The Women event, where big names from the industry talk about issues related to creativity, gender and representation.

When asked if she had any regrets about her choice of films, Bhumi without hesitation admitted that ambition and box-office pressure also played a role. “I’ve made mistakes,” he said, adding that his biggest mistake was when he felt the agency he had worked so hard to build as an actor had been weakened. He further added, “Sometimes you are tempted just because you want a ₹200 crore hit film.”

Despite thinking honestly, Bhumi insisted on her professional boundaries. She insisted, “What I won’t compromise on is that I won’t do any character that disrespects my gender. I won’t do that,” and stressed that certain standards are non-negotiable for her. She did not name any specific projects while talking about the roles that she now considers wrong and said that she prefers to stay away from unnecessary noise about her work.
