Big action of Anti Corruption Bureau in Baran: Joint Director arrested for taking bribe

Rajasthan news: A big news against corruption has come out from Baran district of Rajasthan. Here the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught Anadilal Meena, Joint Director of Agriculture Extension Department, red handed while taking bribe. The accused officer is accused of threatening the shopkeepers doing business of fertilizers and seeds in the name of verifying their stock registers and illegally extorting money in return for the work.

Rajasthan news: The team came into action on the complaint of traders

The whole matter started when traders lodged a complaint against the functioning of the officer at Baran ACB post on May 4. Traders said that Anandi Lal Meena was harassing them unnecessarily and demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000 from each person in exchange for checking the stock register.

Rajasthan news: The truth came out in the investigation

After receiving the complaint, ACB conducted confidential verification of the case on May 5 in a planned manner. During the investigation it became clear that the officer was indeed demanding a bribe. The accused had taken Rs 2,000 as advance during the verification itself and was continuously pressurizing the traders for the remaining money.

Officer caught after laying a trap

Today the team of ACB Kota Range laid the trap with full preparation. Under the direction of Deputy Inspector General Omprakash Meena, the team carried out the trap operation. As soon as the accused took Rs 5,000 from one complainant and Rs 3,000 from the other (total Rs 8,000), the team caught him red-handed on the spot.

Case registered against corruption

Rajasthan news: After the arrest, now the ACB team is thoroughly interrogating the accused officer. A case has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
