New Delhi. 28 March. In a major success towards the goal of drug-free India, the Anti Narcotics Squad (ANS) of South-East District Police has taken a major action against organized drug syndicate. The team, in a well-planned operation, recovered 99.25 grams of Mephedrone (MD) and arrested two accused, the market value of which is said to be around Rs 10 lakh. This action is being considered as a severe attack on the drug smuggling network. According to the police, the ANS team had received secret information on March 27, 2026 that a large consignment of drugs was going to be delivered to Taimur Nagar area. Taking the information seriously, a special team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Vishnu Dutt, which included many experienced policemen. The team took immediate action and laid siege near SPA Gate No. 1 on Gurudwara Road and started keeping an eye on suspicious vehicles.
Within some time, an attempt was made to stop a Maruti XL-6 car and a TVS NTorq Scooty. Seeing the police, the accused in both the vehicles tried to run away, but the alert team caught them. Upon search, a total of 99.25 grams of MD was recovered from both of them. The entire action was documented through video recording to maintain transparency.
The arrested accused have been identified as Kartik Mishra (30), resident of Taimur Nagar and Vishal (20), resident of Govindpuri. During interrogation, it was revealed that Karthik Mishra is the main operator of this entire drug network and he runs a cafe named ‘Eagle Eye Cafe’ in Kalkaji area. Vishal is his close associate, who used to handle the supply and transportation of drugs.
Police said that a case has been registered in this matter under sections of NDPS Act at New Friends Colony police station. Further legal action is underway against both the accused. Preliminary investigation has also revealed that both the accused have not been involved in any criminal case before, but by joining this drug network, they entered into illegal activities. The ANS team is now conducting continuous raids and inquiries to reach the root of this entire network. Police say that a thorough investigation is being done to find out from where the drugs were being supplied and who are the people behind it. Officials believe that this arrest will help in breaking the back of the drug syndicate operating in the capital. Police officials also made it clear that the campaign against drugs will continue in the same manner and every possible step will be taken to free the society from this menace.
