Big administrative reshuffle in Bihar, 21 IAS and 27 IPS officers transferred simultaneously

Patna: Bihar government has made a major reshuffle at the administrative level and changed the responsibilities of many senior officers. New District Magistrates have been appointed in many important districts of the state, while many IAS officers have been assigned new departmental responsibilities. Administrative leadership has been changed in many districts including Patna, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Rohtas and East Champaran. Late Thursday night, the General Administration Department issued notification of transfer and new appointments of 21 IAS officers. Earlier, 27 IPS officers were also transferred.

According to the order issued, 1996 batch IAS officer Anand Kishore has been made the Additional Chief Secretary of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department. Whereas 1997 batch officer Robert L. Chogthu has been removed from the Minority Welfare Department and appointed Principal Secretary of the Parliamentary Affairs Department. Apart from this, 2007 batch IAS officer Mohammad Sohail has been made the Secretary of Minority Welfare Department. He will also have the additional responsibility of Secretary of General Administration Department and Investigation Commissioner.

Tyagarajan becomes chairman of Bihar School Examination Committee

Patna District Magistrate Thiagarajan SM has been transferred and appointed as the Chairman of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). Besides, he will also hold the additional charge of Special Secretary in the Health Department. Khagaria District Magistrate Naveen Kumar has been made the Special Secretary in the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department. He has also been given the additional charge of Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department.

Kundan Kumar will be the new DM of Patna

Nalanda District Magistrate Kundan Kumar has been appointed the new DM of the capital Patna. Considering his administrative experience, he has been given this important responsibility. On the other hand, Muzaffarpur DM Subrata Kumar Sen has been made the managing director of Bihar Medical Services and Infrastructure Corporation Limited. Whereas 2013 batch IAS officer Dharmendra Kumar has been appointed Chairman of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited.

Jehanabad and Nalanda get new District Magistrates

Chhirid Y Bhutia, working as Special Secretary in the Health Department, has been made the new DM of Jehanabad. Rohtas District Magistrate Udita Singh has been given the command of Nalanda district. The government believes that these changes will speed up administrative work and help in better implementation of development plans in the districts.

These officers got new responsibility

East Champaran District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal has been appointed Managing Director of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, giving new responsibility. His new role in the energy sector is being considered important.

2016 batch IAS officer Anshul Aggarwal has been made the new District Magistrate of Banka district. Before this, he was working as Excise Commissioner cum Inspector General of Registration in the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department.

Jehanabad DM Alankrita Pandey has now been made the District Magistrate of Bhagalpur. Whereas 2017 batch IAS officer Kumar Gaurav has been appointed as the new DM of Muzaffarpur. Earlier, he was working as Additional Executive Director in the State Health Committee.

Confed Managing Director Sameer Saurabh has been made the new District Magistrate of Gopalganj. Saurabh Suman Yadav, a 2019 batch IAS officer working on the post of Director of Agriculture, has been appointed as the new DM of East Champaran (Motihari). Apart from this, Preeti, Chief Executive Officer of Jehanabad Zilla Parishad, has been made the Director of Directorate of Integrated Child Development Services.

2019 batch IAS officer Naveen Kumar has been made the new DM of Kishanganj. Before this he was working in Bihar Education Project Council. Meanwhile, Director of Elementary Education Vikram Virkar has been transferred and appointed as the new District Magistrate of Khagaria district.

Deepak Kumar Mishra, working as Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, has been made the new DM of Rohtas district. Apart from this, Chandrima Attri, Officer on Special Duty in Revenue and Land Reforms Department, has been appointed Director of Social Welfare Department.
