Big administrative shock, transfer of 37 IPS officers
Under the major administrative reshuffle in Gujarat, the state government has appointed 37 IPS Officers have been transferred (IPS Transfer List 2026). The government led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has issued orders in this regard and assigned new responsibilities to many senior officials. According to the notification issued by the Home Department, these transfers have been implemented with immediate effect in public interest.
With this major reshuffle, the state has also got a new State Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief. According to the information, senior IPS officer Ashok Kumar Yadav has been appointed as the new State IB Chief of Gujarat. Apart from this, changes have also been made in many range police chiefs and senior posts. Under this decision of the government, many officers who were waiting for posting for a long time have also been given new responsibilities.
These officers got new responsibility
IPS officer Shamsher Singh (1991 batch), who was currently awaiting posting, has been appointed to the post of Director Civil Defense and Commandant General Home Guard, Gujarat State, Ahmedabad (IPS Transfer List 2026).
Ashok Kumar (2003 batch), who was Inspector General of Police, Rajkot Range, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police, CID (Intelligence), Gandhinagar.
Gagandeep Gambhir (2004 batch), who was serving as Inspector General of Police (Administration), Gandhinagar, has been given additional responsibility in the State Surveillance Cell, Gandhinagar.
Gautam Kumar M. Parmar (2004 batch), who was the Inspector General of Police, Bhavnagar range, has been appointed to the CID.
Raghavendra Vats (2005 batch), who held the post of Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) in Surat city, has been made Inspector General of Police, Ahmedabad Range.
Apart from this, Nilesh Bhikhabhai Jajadia (2006 batch) has been made Joint Commissioner of Police (Sector-2, Crime and Law and Order) in Vadodara City (IPS Transfer List 2026), while in his place Dr. Leena Patil (2010 batch) has been appointed as the new Inspector General of Police, Junagadh Range.
This major administrative change of the state government is being considered an important step towards further strengthening the law and order and police administration.
