Big allegations against Omraj Nimbalkar after Legislative Council elections, Shinde claims to have supported Mahayuti even before joining the group
After the results of Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, a new discussion has started in the politics of the state. Especially the results of Dharashiv-Latur-Beed Legislative Council seat have raised many questions about the political role of former Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Omraje Nimbalkar.
Recently Omraj Nimbalkar had announced to join Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. However, now on the basis of election data, the opposition parties claim that they had taken this political decision even before the public announcement and its effect was also visible in the voting for the Legislative Council elections.
Voting data increased political turmoil
BJP candidate Basavaraj Patil won from Dharashiv-Latur-Beed Legislative Council seat, while Mahavikas Aghadi-backed Congress candidate Mahesh Deshmukh had to face defeat.
Regarding the voting figures revealed after the election results, it is being claimed that there was a big dent in the votes of Mahavikas Aghadi. Political analysts believe that some votes of the local public representatives went in favor of the Mahayuti candidate, due to which the BJP got direct benefit.
Announcement later, decision first?
Voting for the Legislative Council elections took place on 18 June, while Omraj Nimbalkar subsequently publicly announced his joining of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena.
The opposition alleges that the political decision had already been taken and during the voting, Mahayuti got support under the same strategy.
Thackeray group got another blow
The party was already under pressure after six MPs from the Thackeray faction took a different stand after the Lok Sabha. In such a situation, Omraje Nimbalkar’s joining Shinde group is being considered as another big political blow for Uddhav Thackeray.
The party has issued show cause notices to the rebel MPs and continuous meetings are going on at the organizational level as well.
Sanjay Raut targeted
Senior Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut reacted sharply to Omraj Nimbalkar’s decision. He alleged that Mahayuti was benefited by dividing the votes of Mahavikas Aghadi.
Calling it a betrayal of the party, Raut said it has caused damage to the opposition alliance.
Preparations had already started with the workers
Before announcing his joining the Shinde faction, Omraj Nimbalkar had held meetings of workers in various taluks of Dharashiv district. In these meetings he discussed his future political direction and later made public his decision to join Shiv Sena (Shinde faction).
Discussion intensified in political circles
After the results of Dharashiv-Latur-Beed seat, now the political debate has intensified regarding the alleged manipulation of Mahavikas Aghadi’s votes, the role of local leaders and the timing of Omraje Nimbalkar’s political decision.
However, no detailed official response has come so far from Omraj Nimbalkar on these allegations. At the same time, after the results of the Legislative Council elections, all eyes are on the changing political picture of Maharashtra.
