Patna. After continuously falling temperatures in Bihar and the first snowfall in the hilly areas, the effect of cold has reached the plains. In view of this severe cold, orders have been issued to close schools and Anganwadi centers in many districts of the state. The Meteorological Department and the district administration have advised the public to stay at home and adopt necessary safety measures.
School closure districts and orders
1. Gopalganj:
The district administration has banned educational activities in all government and private schools, pre-schools and Anganwadi centers from December 22 to December 24. Only classes 9th and above will not run before 10 am and after 4:30 pm. Board and pre-board examinations will remain exempted from this order.
2. Saran (Chhapra):
According to the order of DM Vaibhav Srivastava, all schools up to class 10 will remain closed till December 23. Classes above class 10 will be held from 10 am to 4:30 pm. Anganwadi centers will provide hot food to children from 12 noon to 2 pm.
3. Muzaffarpur:
DM Subrata Sen has changed the operating timings of all schools, pre-schools and Anganwadi centres. Now there will be no educational activity before 10 am and after 3:30 pm.
4. Araria:
DM Vinod Duhan ordered suspension of studies till December 24 in all schools, pre-schools, Anganwadi centers and coaching institutes up to class 5. Classes from class 5 onwards will be held from 11 am to 3 pm. For relief from cold wave, bonfires have been arranged at 48 places in the district and blanket distribution is going on.
5. Dandy:
According to the order of DM Navdeep Shukla, all schools, pre-schools, Anganwadi centers and coaching institutes in the district will remain closed before 10 am and after 4 pm. Board and pre-board classes will remain free from this.
6. Went:
All schools up to class 5 in Gaya district will remain closed till December 24. Time has been limited for higher classes.
7. Madhubani:
DM Anand Sharma has ordered that educational activities will not be conducted in all the schools and Anganwadi centers of the district before 11 am and after 3 pm. This order will remain effective till December 25. The minimum temperature in the district has reached 11 degrees Celsius.
