Big announcement of Annamalai, who separated from BJP, said – new political movement will start from today

Chennai. Former state president of Tamil Nadu BJP K. Annamalai has announced to form his new political party after resigning from Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that he is starting a new political movement, which will take the form of a strong political party in the coming times and will work to give a new direction to the politics of Tamil Nadu.

Addressing the public on social media platform X, Annamalai said, “A new path, a new movement and a new political journey is starting from today.” He said that now his political goals are bigger than ever and he has to move forward by taking more people along with him to realize his vision.

Annamalai claimed that while in the BJP, he never compromised on important issues like Tamil Nadu’s identity, culture and water rights of the state. He said that his politics has always been focused on the interests of the state and the aspirations of the people.

Left BJP for new politics-
On her decision to separate from BJP, Annamalai said that she has taken this decision with full dignity and respect. His aim is to establish a new political thinking in Tamil Nadu based on development, cultural values and regional interests.

He told that on December 4, 2025 itself, he had informed the party leadership about his desire to resign. However, he was advised to wait until the electoral process was completed. Annamalai said that the question always remained before him whether he was a BJP worker first or the son of Tamil Nadu. Ultimately he decided to choose a new path in accordance with his principles and ideas.

New party will contest the assembly elections-
Annamalai made it clear that his new political party will participate in the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections. He said that this step has been taken to provide an alternative and development-oriented political platform to the people of the state.

In his resignation letter to BJP president Nitin Naveen on June 2, Annamalai had said that he did not want to put additional pressure on the party leadership with his vision of politics based on development-centric and cultural values. Therefore he has decided to start an independent political journey.

This decision of Annamalai is being seen as a major development in Tamil Nadu politics, as his new party can influence the political equations in the upcoming elections.
